Ramadhan 6 – Al Ghashiya 7-10 – Charity – Rabanna 2

Charities-as-a-Vehicle-for-a-Social-Enterprise-1

Asalam aleikum warahmatullah. In Sha Allah day 6 has gone well for you all. May Allah accept it. Charity! I cannot stress this enough. You don’t have to be super rich to give as anything from a smile is charity.

We must know though that zakat is mandatory on some and you should ask your local leaders to help you work out if you are or not. However, Sadaqat is given by anyone.

I testify to a number of times I’ve not had much and given out whatever little I have. By Allah within a short time He blesses me with something I don’t expect from places I could never have imagined. Our charity is also meant to be so secret that the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand has given so dont post every good you do on social media lest your intention changes and you get no reward from it.

The Prophet said: “Your smile for your brother is a charity. Your removal of stones, thorns or bones from the paths of people is a charity. Your guidance of a person who is lost is a charity.” (Bukhari)

“A charity is due for every joint in each person on every day the sun comes up: to act justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it, is a charity; a good word is a charity; and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity.” (Al-Bukhari, Muslim)

The Prophet said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

The Prophet said: “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

The Prophet said: “The upper hand is better than the lower hand (he who gives is better than him who takes). One should start giving first to his dependents. And the best object of charity is that which is given by a wealthy person (from the money left after his expenses). And whoever abstains from asking others for some financial help, Allah will give him and save him from asking others, Allah will make him self-sufficient.” (Al-Bukhari)

The Prophet said: “If anyone would like Allah to save him from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection, he should give more time to his debtor who is short of money, or remit his debt altogether.” (Muslim)

The Prophet said: “To give something to a poor man brings one reward, while giving the same to a needy relation brings two: one for charity and the other for respecting the family ties.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

The Prophet said: “When a person dies his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him.” (Muslim, Al-Tirmidhi, others)

Ya Allah please make us of those who love to give in your way and may you accept however little it may be. We seek refuge in you from being of those that depend on other than you for help by begging. May you elevate us in rizik so we may continue to serve and give in your path a may this act as a way of granting us forgiveness, guidance, humbleness and opening up more.

Al Ghashiya 7-10

Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.

[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.

With their effort [they are] satisfied

Rabanna

5. Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error [2:286]

6. Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us [2:286]

Rabbana wala tahmil alayna isran kama hamaltahu ‘alal-ladheena min qablina

7. Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith [2:286]

Rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi wa’fu anna waghfir lana wairhamna anta mawlana fansurna ‘alal-qawmil kafireen

8. Our Lord! (they say), Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure [3:8]

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba’da idh hadaytana wa hab lana milladunka rahmah innaka antal Wahhab
