Asalam aleikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh. Alhamdulillah Allah has blessed with the gift of motherhood for a year now. Princess Laaibah (previous post here) is 1 today and all I can think of is how grateful I am to the Almighty Allah who raised my status to the person we are told to love the most; umm. I also thank Him for granting me a gift that others pray for for years on end and some still don’t get the opportunity. Who am I but a slave of the Most Merciful???A slave of the one who answers prayers we have not yet even made?
How many things does Allah grant us that we don’t thank Him for? How many things do we feel entitled to yet they really are a blessing? How many things do we take for granted yet when you look around not everyone has it? How many times do you stop to say Alhamdulillah????? You can show gratitude to Allah in many ways from looking after what He has bestowed upon you to Sadaqat so do something. Nothing is too smal in front of Allah because you can never do anything to reach his grandeur anyway. So my dhikt today is obviously Alhamdulillah.
Allah says in Surat Ibrahim Ayat 7:
Quote from the Holy Quran, Ibrahim (14:7)
Waith taaththana rabbukum lain shakartum laazeedannakum walain kafartum inna AAathabee lashadeedun
And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.’ “
And also remember to thank people; Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He has not thanked Allah who has not thanked people.” Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 4811
Ya Allah we thank you for all that you have blessed us with. What we know and what we don’t know. The big and the seemingly small. Non of your favors is insignignificant. Please grant us the good in all that we ask you for and also grant us that which you know is good for us without us asking. Ya Allah make us among those who are in constant gratitude and awe of what you continually bless us with and May this be a source of more.
